To take the chill away, we shared a bottle of Marpha Apple "Barndy" in Muktinath. It took the chill away, but also anaesthetized our taste buds along the way. Yaks bound over the hilltop on the way from Letdar to Thorong Phedi. For big animals, they were surprisingly light on their feet. A bit disconcerting to be facing the stampede. Fortunately, they dodged us as much as we did them. They did, however, almost take out Australian supermodel Gemma Ward along the way.
