Our flight from Kathmandu, Nepal to Chengdu, China featured a surprise layover in Lhasa (Tibet). Security was tight at Lhasa airport as the region was still closed to foreigners because of Tibetan protests. There were 13 people on our flight and about twice as many security personnel.
