Chicago, my kinda' town. Look up, tilt head, repeat. Downtown on The Loop, looking north to Trump Tower and 35 E Wacker (Jewelers Building), a building that once featured drive-in elevators so the diamond merchants couldn't be robbed en route to the office. via Instagram http://ift.tt/ZMQJQ6
Did you know? The Washington Monument is the tallest free-standing stone structure in the world at 555 feet. I didn't know this either until Audrey and I made it the site of the 1st of 6 challenges -- "Biggest and Best" -- on our @lonelyplanet #myweekendwanderlust video shoot. We made our way from Washington, DC to the Eastern Shore area of Maryland and Virginia in the new #FordExplorer so we could accomplish it all in two days. I'd once lived in the district and call Northern Virginia a second home. So I thought I knew this area pretty well. However, this series of challenges offered new experiences, destinations and perspectives as we explored with our travelers' eyes wide open.
