A room with a view, literally. St. Pierre Cathedral with its gothic spires and towers looms over Geneva's old town. While the current structure was built in the 12th century, excavations show an earlier church on this site from the 4th century, as well as remains from the Roman Empire several centuries before. So many layers of history, civilizations and cultures, all building on and off each other.
