St. Mary's Church - Krakow, Poland
St. Mary's Church, having been repeatedly rebuilt, has existed in one form or another for close to 700 years. Besides housing the largest Gothic wooden altar in Europe, the church is also known for the trumpet call that is played hourly from the church’s tower. The call breaks mid-phrase in memorial to a famous 13th century trumpeter shot in the throat while sounding the alarm of a Mongol invasion.
