Jewish Cemetery - Krakow, Poland
The Jewish cemetery was part of our walking tour around the old Jewish quarter in Krakow. As the tour guide explained, the cemetery took a number of beatings, first by the Nazis in WWII, then by the Soviets whose heavy industry on the outskirts of town caused acid rain to erode the 400+ year-old tombstones. St. Mary's Church - Krakow, Poland
St. Mary's Church, having been repeatedly rebuilt, has existed in one form or another for close to 700 years. Besides housing the largest Gothic wooden altar in Europe, the church is also known for the trumpet call that is played hourly from the church’s tower. The call breaks mid-phrase in memorial to a famous 13th century trumpeter shot in the throat while sounding the alarm of a Mongol invasion. © www.uncorneredmarket.com

We Made It! 2015. Locals storm the monument on the main square, Old town Poznan, Poland. If you've never enjoyed a New Year's celebration in an Eastern European city, you must. Just choose one. They will buy the fireworks. There will be an official celebration and an unofficial one. It's the unofficial one that you must experience. And as New Years go, this was ideal.
