When exploring, we're always told to look up. Sometimes, you should look down, too. Life exists in the little details -- including this manhole cover, an interpretative bit from Berlin Water Works. Live. From moment to moment. Springtime reminds us of this in full color. Stumbled upon this flower patch during my run at Tempelhof Park today. A nice welcome home. #Berlin via Instagram http://ift.tt/1O5kZNj
Werder Baumblütenfest, or tree blossom festival. Basically, all of Germany leans into spring by drinking cheap fruit wine (sour cherry, raspberry, rhubarb, etc.). Said to be Germany's second biggest "drinking" festival after Oktoberfest. This year marks the 136th year, over half a million in attendance. Lesson learned amidst the fog of fruit wine: Friends don't let friends drink one liter bottles of fruit wine. Personally, we enjoyed grandma's smoked butterfish sandwiches and sour cherry mash. This is #Germany, Brandenburg style. via Instagram http://ift.tt/1GOJG9Y
